Although the sun sets in the west, the metaphorical sun will likely never truly set for Hollywood. This is because just when you might think that the last of the good, appealing actors has been lost form the limelight, a new crop seems to arrive.

For those of us who love movies, this is good news. As new blood refreshes the sometimes tired, anemic tropes and plotlines that Hollywood tosses out, this new talent breathes new life into our cinematic experience.

But who are the up and coming actors in Hollywood today? We could surely come up with upwards of twenty names, but let's just stick to eleven specific actors who are making waves lately.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse

Sure, he's typecast, but how can you not be when you're lanky, have that voice, and wear glasses? Cast as McLovin' in Judd Apatow's beyond raunchy hit 'Superbad' Mintz-Plasse stole the show. He also took a turn in 'Role Models' as well as in a few other recent films. Mintz-Plasse's pleasant charm and unassuming attitude have endeared him to thousands of fans around the world.

As this actor continues to explore his abilities, it is likely he will find real staying power in Hollywood.

AnnaSophia Robb

Cast as the young lead in 'Because of Winn-Dixie,' AnnaSophia Robb stole the hearts of America. She was endearing, tender and her acting ability was remarkable. Her next role showed her range, as she was cast as the jealous and greedy Violet Beuregarde in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.' She did a great job, nailing the whiny, entitled character.

However, we only really fell in love with AnnaSophia when we saw her in her role as Leslie in 2007's 'Bridge to Terabithia,' based on the much-adored novel by Katherine Paterson. She was tough, sensitive, and everything she needed to be.

Her star has only gotten brighter as she has had roles in 'Jumper' and 'Race to Witch Mountain.' This girl, though she's only seventeen as of this writing, is an accomplished actor who has not turned to hogging limelight. She will be around for some time to come.

Josh Hutcherson

Hutcherson has been acting for years. He was the lead, as a big brother who had a lot to learn, in 'Zathura.' Then he was cast opposite AnnaSophia Robb in 'Bridge to Terabithia.' Hutcherson nailed the part of Jesse Aarons, despite never having read the book. His roles have continued to multiply and we will next see him in the redo of 'Red Dawn.'

Josh seems to have his head on straight and is keeping himself out of the tabloids. Combine this wisdom
