Fall wedding hair-do options for 2010

The hair at your wedding should be your crowning glory.  But you don’t want your hairstyle to be “just a pretty hairdo.”  You want it to fit with the theme, tone, and season of the whole wedding itself!  If you’re tying the knot this fall 2010, take a look at some of these ideas for hairstyles that may be perfect for your special day.

*Soft Waves

In fall, there is the feeling of softness and energy in the air.  You can echo these feelings in your hair.  One way to do this is by keeping the look soft and natural, but choosing a style that still has some movement to it.

To make light, delicate waves without a stylist’s help, roll damp hair in soft curlers (not heated curlers).  Depending on the time of your wedding, you can sleep on them or leave them in all day leading up to your hair styling.  Unroll the curlers, and work some holding mousse through the curls with your fingers. (This not only helps them to stay, it also will loosen any tight curls).  Top with some hairspray to hold in any flyaways, and you have a simple and beautiful option for a fall hairdo.

*On-Theme Accessories

One sure-fire way to tie your hair in with your wedding is to use the inspirations for the overall wedding as inspirations for your hairdo as well.  If your centerpieces are made with some rose quartz stones, why not see if you can find a rose quartz hair accessory?  There are many more beautiful hair accessories on the market than you may think.  Browse online for the best selection.  If you live in a larger city, you may be able to find an artisan to make you a custom accessory that matches your wedding perfectly.

*Fringe Benefits

If you want your wedding hairstyle to have an of-the-moment, current feeling, you may want to consider adding some fringey bangs to your ‘do before the big day. Work some mousse through bangs with your fingers to give them a piecey, trendy look. This is only for the daring, though; it can be dangerous to change your hair before your wedding in case you don’t like it.

There are so many more options available for your wedding hairstyle than the common updo.  If you’re getting married this fall, hopefully you got some ideas from these three alternatives.
