Sinking Pleasure
I stumble and tumble distressed and forlorn;
my life is in purgat’ry, brutally torn,
as night after night I’m deprived of my sleep;
the bed covers left in a sad crumpled heap.
I’ve run out of juice and I’ve broken down here;
discard you I will, yet with nary a tear.
All weathered and worn and your use being spent
leaves nothing behind but a used up event.
I heave a huge sigh as I click back online;
to look for much better, a name brand this time.
I gasp when your photo comes into my view;
its frame is so rock-hard, so trendy and new!
I decide I must have you without more delay;
I crave for you now, so my knight comes to play.
Ah, treating myself to an excellent sleep;
new mattress for used, so vamoose, old, and weep.

On my pillow

To while away the night,
And pastel shaded quicksands
engorging souls so light.
Oh child of slumber,
