I saw it in a memory
Or etched upon a wall
The kingdoms that had arisen
And the ones yet to fall;
Smoke and fire rising
Above the hilltops I see
Screaming terrified faces
Burned beyond hope of recovery.

Poisoned my faith in humanity
And set sorrow into my eyes
But I cannot help but think
That someday things will change
Perhaps in another lifetime,
Or upon some other plain.
