Ways to celebrate the fall season

by Peace Woman

Created on: August 24, 2010

Ahhhhh…..can you smell it the fresh beautiful crisp air filling my nostrils. That faint smell of a fading fireplace far off in the distance. When I walk outside on the pavement I crunch the then crumbled dry leaves beneath my feet. I feel the air chilling me from inside out. I snuggle deeper in my warm brown coat. I feel the leaves shake out of excitement upon seeing my arrival. There synchronized shaking together sounds like a ruffled orchestra warming up for a grand finale. I know, you probably figure by now I am talking about the season of fall; that wondrous season. The magical warmth of the world around that you know going to sleep for a spell. But in all things that we prepare for in life we need to prepare for a long slumbering winter. As we get ready, with our warm jackets so does the seasons. The warm blanket you snuggle close to on those chilly nights. We find that the trees do as well. The trees for example. ..  They change their leaves whom turn into beautiful colorful hue of downy quilted blanket woven by the warmth of the loving colors that spill out of the trees hearts. The sweet way they gently undress to the floor when they have to prepare for the winter air. The powerful way the warm glow of love flows thru all creation when the sun warmth reminds of winter soon arriving during the end of fall season.

The magnificent bounty of delicious treats and food fill us. Like the way ripe colorful apples of all shades like roses fall heavily off the trees. When fresh cider taste on a chilly day it can really make you feel the seasons warmth. My favorite is warm cider to warm the spirit on the brisk night.  The ways different tastes like cranberries or chestnuts taste together. Or the wonderful way a caramel apple feels in your mouth all that sinful goodness.  I enjoy the way you can taste so many different kinds of vegetables and make them art. The squash is a wonderful versatile vegetable. The way that the pumpkin can become a pie after smiling his way into the heart of  children of all ages after being carved with a light within it.

The festive holidays also stick in our memories like the dusty relics in the attic only to pulled when the season blesses us again. The holiday of Halloween bringing us fun and frolic in all the tricks or treats to be had by one and all. Then when thankful hearts sit around a table to bless all and everything given for that year and many more to come. The season Thanksgiving.  Some have found that giving thanks all year long can truly keep it in our hearts forever.

I am awed by this season fall, so much to treasure. So take all your memories in your heart and fill them in the scrap book of your mind for next year as like the setting sun the fall season will be put to sleep like a hibernating bear for the next season to come.
