24 was an American political thriller drama series broadcasted from 2002 to 2010. The main theme of the show is that how a federal agent Jack Bauer, who works with the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), tries to save his country from imminent terrorists threats and attacks in a 24-hour timeframe, mostly at the cost of personal expense. After the season 6 of 24, there was a gap of 1 year before the next season was broadcasted. This was due to the Writers’ strike. Nonetheless, within this time, a 2-hour television movie titled 24-Redemption was broadcasted.
At the end of season 6, federal agent Jack Bauer is disheartened with his life. His love interest, Audrey Raines loses her mental balance due to the torture inflicted upon her while in Chinese captivity. After this, Jack leaves CTU and travels round the world to find peace with himself. He finally ends up in Sangala, a fictional underdeveloped African nation. He works there for the war orphans with his old friend Carl Benton (played by Robert Carlyle) in a school built by Benton. While Jack is in Sangala, the US Senate is looking for him, to take him to trial for his use of torture on prisoners to extract information and acting outside orders. A embassy official comes to Jack to inform him of the subpoena, and Jack replies him by saying that ‘if the government wants him, they can come and get him’.
Meanwhile, Jack is at Benton’s school, troops of General Benjamin Juma move in towards the city to take over the government. During that time, several soldiers of the Juma army come to Benton’s school in hope to recruit the children as child soldiers. Jack suspects them and asks all the children to hide in the bunker. Fighting with the soldiers with his nominal weapons, he manages to kill most of them but is finally captured by Yousso Dubaku, who is the brother of Colonel Ike Dubaku, the right hand of General Juma. Yossou asks Jack to tell him the location of the children, but Jack refuses. Yousso tortures him and while he is torturing Jack, he sees that Benton has arrived with an injured student. Jack Bauer gives the wrong location and Yousso’s men set out to find the children, they are ambushed by Benton while Jack Bauer twists Yossou’s neck instantly killing him.
Knowing that a coup is inevitable, Benton says that the children should be immediately transferred to the American embassy so they can fly off to the United States. They leave in a bus towards the city and
