What love is all about

by Rick Badman

Created on: August 23, 2010

If I were explaining love on a scientific basis I would say that the reason why two people are attracted to one another is because of four things mainly.  They are physo-electrical attraction which we call chemistry, physical appearance, mutual interests, and less because of race since there has been a mixing of the races for centuries.

A man can be attracted to a woman who is less attractive than another woman due to the blending of their physo-electrical fields.  Many call the energy an aura.  That could explain why some of the most beautiful women in the world are without male partners while many not-as-beautiful women are with mates for the rest of their lives.  Such long-lasting couples blend their fields so well that after awhile they often start looking like each other.  The people love each other because they are physically designed to love each other.  They are like a pair of shoe.  You can't match a ballet slipper with a work boot.  Yet physo-electrical attraction can cause a ballet dancer to marry a construction worker.

Too often, beatiful people marry other beautiful people because their physical beauty attracts each other to the other person.  This is mistaken as love.  The vows in a wedding may be what God hath joined, let no man cut asunder.  But in too many cases, God did nothing in joining many pairs.

Mutual interests can draw couples together and keep them together for the rest of their lives.  But that doesn't mean they love one another.  It may mean their love for, say, Star Trek, keeps them interested in each other.  But unless they have true loving feelings for one another, they may be miserable.

I am comfortable around women of all races and even around lesbians that I share interests and mutual respect for.  But if I ever marry, it will most likely be to another white woman.  I have known Jewish girls that I would have loved marrying even though I am a Christian.  But only if I love a woman would I think of marrying her.

True love goes beyond physical or outward traits.  Love allows a person to overlook flaws and even differences that would destroy relationships that are based souly on the external or even physo-electrical attraction.  Love could be described at times as a state of insanity.  Christ said we should love our enemies and help those who hate us.  That is much easier said
