Looking good in clothes even if you have a small chest

Despite occasional focuses in the media and Hollywood on large breasts, most clothing styles are actually easier to wear well if you have a small chest than if you have a large chest.  Having a small chest is nothing to be ashamed of.  There are many options available to you for dressing your body to its best advantage.

Highlight

Since your chest is not large enough to grab attention on its own, you can choose garments that will help to highlight this area and show off your attributes.  Some examples to look for include:

*Embellishment: A shirt or dress with embellishment such as rhinestones, studs, or embroidery along the bust will help to draw more focus to this area.

*Ruffles: Ruffles or other voluminous details in fabric can help add volume if you need to balance out a wider bottom half.

*High collars: It may seem a little backwards, but high collars actually help emphasize the chest.  Choose turtlenecks or mandarin collars to help draw attention to your figure.

Built-in Shape

There are many clothing options that will help give you an automatic hourglass shape.  A few examples of such clothing include:

*Fitted blazer or jacket: A jacket that nips in at the waist and flares out slightly at the hip will help you add structured curves instantly.  This truly is a miracle garment; it can add curves where they’re needed and still smooth bulges on other bodies.

*Wrap dress: Wrap dresses can create the same effect, because most will have a tie that helps to cinch the waist and show off your tiny frame.  Try pairing a voluminious underpinning (with center ruffles, perhaps) with a wrap dress to further increase the curve-enhancing effect.

Structure and Shape

For any woman to look her best in clothes, a well-fitting bra is essential.  When you have a smaller chest, a proper bra can help lift and enhance you so that your chest is more noticeable when you want it to be.  Padding or push-up styles of bras can help if you really feel that you want a little more bounce in your bosom.

You should not think of the following techniques as trying to somehow “fix” your small bosom – rather, think of them as ways to show off your cute body to its best advantage and draw attention to where it needs to go.
