Poetry: Trail of tears

by Kristy Bolander

Created on: August 22, 2010

The tear slides alone across my cheek,

Leaving a path none other will seek.

Because each day I hold them in,

To hide the heartache within.

I was always taught never to cry,

Just move on with my head held high.

But now I wonder if the pain will always stay,

Because I can't let it run away
