Whose strong trumpet like voice will speak
words of strength for the children?
Who will speak for the persecuted boys and girls?
You saw her yesterday
The little girl who lost her zeal was raped
By someone her Mama trusted with her life
She wears big baggy pants trying to look ugly
In her fragile mind it was her fault
She tries to hide every inch of her flesh
Now she sits in a dark isolated corner in a daze
She scrubs herself frantically in the shower
Never seeming to get clean enough
Who will speak for the voiceless?
Little Samantha was hit by a drunk driver
The driver poised her lips to put on Ruby red lipstick #10
She heard the loud thump, checked it out
Walking with a slow pace without a care in the world
The lady saw Samantha, hopped back in the car
Her tires shrieked loudly
As she sped off burnt tires absorbed the air
Now she has recurring nightmares about
The voiceless little girl
Who is brave enough to go before the audience
to advocate for the wronged with a lion's roar of
resilience?
Fear of public speaking is grimacing but we will
Stop the smirk with words
Giving the voiceless
A chance to speak
The message is much too important to develop
panic attacks and dripping palms of sweat today
Abusers perch behind lying fat smiles
Putting on airs/fronts
Drenched in disastrous choices, money problems,
Abused by life and parents, the neighborhood bully
They still fight wars from their past
Still they fight to be Daddy's #1 girl
They're the Displaced son
Who was Mama's boy
My, My, My..... His Mama was an angry woman
Whose momma hated men
Fighting against the string of bad lovers who idly
stood by while money declined
Daddy walked out on the family
The bitter pill of rejection
Didn't go down smoothly
And now I once again ask who will speak for the children?

Poetry: The voiceless
The silence is unnerving, the muffled sounds have since ceased.
The danger is always lurking, just pretend that you're asleep.

Voiceless in the Dark
To my eternal guilt and shame,
I just complied you see.
Voiceless in the dark.
Don't scream, keep a secret,
Oh darling child! if you only knew
What future lies ahead.
Every night, the stars, they laugh
As you wish upon your bed.

For the women ..
who have no say..
No voice to speak..
except to pray..
Your battered bodies..
broken, taken...
