Poetry: Sad goodbyes

-LAST GOODBYES-

Tears trickle down my face,
As my heart is filled with sorrow,
I feel like a disgrace
My mind so blank and hollow.

I could have made things right,
I could have stopped this pain,
Now I'm a victim to this fight
There's just a loss, no mental gain.

And now the moment's risen,
To say my last farewell,
I can't leave this mental prison,
I can't fight this mental hell.

I wave my hand and battle tears,
Mind racing between thoughts,
I try to overcome these fears
I'm silent and distraught.

I savour every second,
As I choke back all these cries,
I wave once more,
My heart is sore,
With the sound of last goodbyes.
