A look at Adressaday.com and you’ll notice that there isn’t a lot to browse. The site is divided into three sections - sponsored listings, related searches and popular categories. While the searches provide more of a detailed listing, clicking on one will take you to more links inside the sponsored listings. These are mainly Google ads. Also, the popular categories don’t really help much as it just sits below the site for which it helps the webmaster retain the visitor who may be bored with the site’s usability but want to search for something else.

Overall, Adressaday.com is enamored with advertising text links and what is obvious is that it’s not made for visitors to read content as there are no articles available nor pictures of dresses which go into details of the types of dresses that may be found. The webmaster instead wants to make some money from traffic click-through and sales. Thus, this is what niche marketers do as there are a lot of websites on the internet that are designed this way.

Since we’re reviewing this site today and seeing it in terms of usability, design and influence, let’s go back to history and see how far adressaday.com has been around.

~ First Impressions ~

Looking through Wayback Machine, the internet archive, what is apparent is the domain name was purchased somewhere in 2006. Three dates are registered in December of that year and clicking through, the same style of browsing ensues. However, the only difference here is there was a subtitle, "What you need, when you need it". Other than that, the main menu is nothing different from the related searches which is found today on the current site.

It wasn’t until 2007 that the design for the site changed. It’s the same one which is current with today. Otherwise, nothing much has changed since 2007.

~ Ranking and Value ~

Looking further through rankings, value and even page rank, what Smart Page Rank discloses is this domain was effective on May 30, 2006. With an Alexa rank of 13,971,139, there are only 2 indexed pages on this site. Overall, backlinks are minimal and the estimated value is only at $277 despite the age of the domain. This could in part be because of content not being added to the site on a daily basis or ever.

A further look which details the inner workings on Website in Depth, we see that the value here is only at $12. Geo-location shows that the IP of the webmaster or server is located somewhere in TX. Thus, this site is nothing but an address which wants to take advantage of the money opportunities found through keyword searching.

~ How This Site is Used ~

There is no value to visiting the site as it is not updated at all and there is no About page to know who is behind the site. It serves only as a concentrated search for those who are looking for ‘a dress’ as that’s the keyword it focuses around. Other than that, users will find this site no different from searching on Google as it seems to pull its links within Google only. Better stick to Google then and find a dress than take a spin with this site.
