How to remove the smell of cat urine from a carpet. If you are a pet lover and happen to have male cats, you have definitely had the foul, unpleasantness of cat urine smell choking you at the door.

We all try to hide the cat litter box and disguise the odors, the best we can, but your friendly family cat decides to be totally bad and use your floor, as their bathroom. Now, you have to not only try to correct the behavior problem, but now you have to find something to get rid of that horrid smell and out of your carpet.

The first thing you need to do is get a dry cloth and “not” paper towels, they will just rip up and not get the wetness out of the carpet. Using the cloth, sop up all the urine you can get out of the carpet. If you put the cloth over the wet area, you can press down on it with your foot. This will get the majority of it out faster, and you won't have to touch it.

Once you have it as dry as possible, the best thing to use is some type of enzyme odor and stain remover. Some are in a spray bottle, while others may be a concentrated formula and will require you to mix water with it. If this is the kind you purchase, just re-use an empty spray bottle you have and mark it clearly, that it is for pet odor control.

There are several good brands to choose from for this type of carpet cleaning, made especially for urine. Just make sure that the products you choose can be used on all carpet fibers, as well as on upholstery, because if you have a male cat, you can almost bet that they have or will do a little spraying of their own. So if you have that smell you cannot seem to locate, one suggestion would be to actually check the sides of your furniture.

If you happen to have more than one male cat, I can promise you that at some point they have marked your house in all the rooms. So start your on-line search for a good pet care product line that meets your needs. One excellent choice of products to use for this problem is by Natural Touch, they claim to be the original odor and stain remover for pet urine accidents.

After gaining firsthand knowledge about this product, it is safe to say that it does work in removing the nasty odor and stains. It also leaves behind a fresh clean smell. Just follow the directions on the back of the bottle and you will soon be on your way to a fresher, more pleasant smelling carpet and home.
