My God, I bless you with all I have been,
Gently beckoning me with a promise of life.
Gratitude for family, fun times and friends,
Inner faith and strength to combat strife.
Pursuing this life down here on earth,
This often painful process and physical toil.
No piece of cake of hilarity and mirth,
Preparing my soul my mind recoils.
Some dreams unfound but countless fulfilled,
Cavorting, rejoicing my spirit now sings.
My mind, my soul, my heart now stilled,
I’m wafting away from all material things.
Eternity upon eternity, a forward life of bliss,
Heaven on earth come down from above.
Total peace in tranquility, serenity this,
With Jesus my shield, my hope and my love.
