Searing Pain
I feel my heart start sinking,
Like the anchor from a ship,
I can not stop this thinking
Tears trickle on my lips.
I could have stopped the damage,
But I couldn't let things go...
There was this underlying hero,
Now a victim to such woe.
I am asked the same old questions:
"Will you ever be the same?"
There's nothing they can do.
There's nothing I can claim.
I gaze outside the window,
Being struck against by rain,
I stare and nod,
And pray to God,
to relieve this searing pain.

lies are deadly
people are crushed
innocents hurt
for the selfish
