Poetry: Writer's block

by Astounding Articles

Created on: August 21, 2010

-WRITER'S BLOCK-
I stare towards the wall,
As empty as my page,
Mind twisting between thoughts
Of tiredness and rage.

I've wracked my brain for hours,
Hoping something would emerge,
But not a spark of hope,
There is no poetic surge.

I stare and wait for words to form
But turn away in grief
Then suddenly, my mind is swarmed
I have thoughts of something brief.

The thoughts connect and form
As I sip out of my tea,
The taste is strong and warm
As though answering my plea.

I piece the words together,
And plot the page with ink,
Heck, I may even be cheering,
Had I not just spilt my drink!
