What you need to apply for extended unemployment Benefit

Applying for extended unemployment benefits is easier than you think.

As of January 15, 2010 I was laid off my job at a doctor’s office I worked for. In the mean time that I have been unemployed I have been working on starting my own business. It is now August and I have had no luck with my business venture or looking for a job. I have been receiving unemployment benefits since I have been laid off 7 months ago. The economy is so bad to the point that it is hard to find another job. I honestly didn’t believe that the recession would affect my job. I worked in a small doctor’s office in the billing department. Being on unemployment is a little hard for me because after paying bills there is nothing to put away into savings, and to this day I’m not use to living from check to check. I even had to let go of my apartment and move in with a family member until I get back on my feet. Even though I am not making the same amount on unemployment that I was making when I was working, I always make sure my bills are always paid on time.

A lot of people are going through the same thing at this time weather they recently got laid off or have been laid off since the recession started. Unemployment is the only positive outcome in this situation right now. There are people that are working and expect to get laid off have questions about unemployment. One of those questions is “what you need to apply for extended unemployment benefits?” This is a question people have just in case their unemployment benefits run out they know what to do next. This is a valuable thing to know just in case you run into this situation.

You will receive unemployment benefits for a period of months, Unemployment will let you know how much unemployment benefits you have left each time you claim benefits whether its by phone or internet. When your unemployment benefits run out, you will receive a letter from the unemployment office letting you know when the next time you should claim your benefits. There is no gap in receiving your extended benefits it will continue as if your benefits never ran out. Simple right, you don’t need to do anything but wait for a letter that lets you know when to file for your extended benefits. You don’t need to go through any hard processing or anything. Well for now it’s easy to reapply for your unemployment benefits but you never know what the future might bring, they may change the process.
