Steady slaps, rejecting shoves
To take away a child's trust
To give him pain and boxing gloves

I'd lost desire to live and hope

With love He set my spirit free
He soothed away the misery
Flying finally like an eagle free
He set my feet on solid ground
Extinguishing pain, no longer bound
Disillusionment changed to free and sound
My youthful life was turned around
