Poetry: Gossip

by Asif Joosub

Created on: August 20, 2010

Adding fuel to the fire doesn’t burn
Depending which page you want to burn
Any story can make a headline
But bad news is a goldmine
Take a recipe for disaster
In baking everyone is their own master

I don’t think when I write poetry
I just write
With geometry
Knowing there’s always a sad angle shedding light
Knowing man will always meet
To discuss
Some fuss
Just as a cow must eat
Man has to rub salt on his wound
To feel accepted
Not wanting to be marooned
Keeping up with the news to be respected

A sad eye will turn to gossip
And once only you need make that trip
Any story is for sail on that ship
That never anchors
To all who enquires
With gossip a rumor never retires
