Best movies ever

- "Finding Nemo" - Cutest fish movie ever, very original in story line. Sheer artistry makes it a favorite feature-length cartoon. The splash of brilliant kaleidoscope colors is enough to bring it home. A movie that will lift anyone out of depression. The story alone makes it worth seeing. Not just for kids.

- "Copycat" - Not a movie for kids or teens, scary and frightful, a real thriller. Harry Connick Jr. makes us believe in his evil. Not everyone can play a real psycho on screen but Connick is one of the best. Sigourney Weaver shines as the serial killer specialist, totally believable as the wounded prey making a slow recovery from Connick's craziness. Dermot Mulroney plays the handsome detective in the wrong profession. We just know something bad is going to happen to him. Will Patton is the jilted detective fuming beneath the facade, jilted by Holly Hunter, the most believable female detective since Tyne Daly's role in Dirty Harry's movie, "The Enforcer", but Kyra Sedgwick remains the best of the best as "The Closer". Grab the popcorn because you won't leave the couch.

- "Marathon Man" - A classic movie of intrigue involving spies, diamonds, Nazis and murder. Dustin Hoffman is right in the middle of everything, a brilliant student attending Columbia who loves to run, mostly from his past. He soaks in the tub after a long run, content with his normal student life. The washcloth comes off his face as he watches in horror while the hinges are slowly removed from his locked bathroom door. Roy Scheider is great as his older brother, knee-deep in the spy game while William Devane plays a great Fed. Hoffman is used and abused by everyone including Sir Laurence Olivier, the Nazi angel of death who uses evil persuasion from the dental chair. Not for kids, you'll wonder if it's ever safe.

- "The Hunt For Red October" - Sean Connery's finest movie. All the actors are in perfect sync as the movie moves back and forth, above and below the water in American and Russian submarines. A great good guys vs. bad guys movie until we realize the bad guys aren't so bad after all.  Alec Baldwin's best movie, he keeps hope alive and the planet alive as our hero, Jack Ryan, the CIA analyst who saves the day. Jonesy is noteworthy as the American sub engineer who picks up the Russian sub using his radar and genius. The opposing ambassadors reveal their political brilliance knowing when to give in and when to pull back. A patriotic theme is threaded throughout
