The question itself is incorrect. One does not study Kabbalah. One acquires Kabbalah. Everything that has been written on Kabbalah is the perspective of the author. These perspectives may act as study materials, but none of it is required. Kabbalah means "to receive" and to receive one must be worthy (for a lack of a better word). You can study Kabbalah your entire life and never accomplish a glimpse of enlightment. On the other hand, you can wake up one day with profound information. Any book on Kabbalah or instructions should inform you on how to prepare for Kabbalah. Too much information can distort the process gathering by the brain synapses. What can happen is, that you begin to look for icons or images described by someone else. Kabbalah is a unique experience structured personally for the individual to comprehend. The problem lies in the interpretation of that experience. I've been studying courses from Academic Writing to Anthropology, Sociology, and Ancient History just to acquire the vocabulary to explain some of my own experiences. Am I accurate? When I read it, it is; however, how you read it may not necessarily create the same 'familiarity factor' for the receptors in your brain synapses. In others words, "Things just won't click."
Information is the mechanism which has taken over the human evolutionary process. We seldom need to discover information through trial and error; it is simply taught to us by our parents (hopefully) our teachers (painfully) and our peers (emotionally). Abraham also experienced hope, pain and emotion. The factor that would have placed him on the path to Kabbalah was that he was truly concerned about his people more than himself. To be the "Brother's Keeper" is the shortest route to Kabbalah. But, it must be genuine. You cannot fool your chemical impulses. Once the proper impulses connect, then chances are you will "RECEIVE".
Keep in mind: There is no room for culture-bound reasoning. There is no room for capitalism. There is no room for religion. Any personal opinion or pre-conceived expectation will "Block" you. Now, I know that there are Functional theorists and Conflict theorist probably scrambling to contradict my theory, however, until they Kabbalah, they won't understand. As cocky as that may sound, I don't mean it to. Kabbalah is a personal experience that can only be compared to ones sexual experience...it's personal.
Now, answer the original question.
