Absolutely, 100% yes they should be given birth control

Teenagers, male and female should be given all options in regards to birth control, whether it be from their parents, or from their school.

Whether this be 1980 or 2010, children today are having babies. Some as young as 12 years-old are walking around five and six months pregnant. Why you might ask are they having sex or getting pregnant so young? One reason, not the only reason, is the fact that as adults we are not educating are children enough on sex or the availability of birth control.

Assumptions are always made that teenagers already know that they should not have sex. If they are having sex, then they should automatically know to either bring a condom, wear a condom, or be on birth control. In order for them to do this, they need to know where they can get condoms or be prescribed birth control pills. If asked, most teenagers will know where to get condoms, however most will not have the money for them.

Giving condoms away at school, educating teenage girls where and how they can get birth control, is something that should be done all through out the country. Teenagers are always going to have sex. Maybe not all teenagers, many of them. Why not make sure they are protected when they do.

Does it not make us irresponsible as adults to allow our children to have sex unprotected? Whether we agree or disagree, whether we want them to or not, they are still going to have sex with or without birth control. If teenagers are given the options of birth control in school, it is a large possibility that we would lower the pregnancy rate in teenage girls.

Unfortunately, people are mixing their views, religion and whatever else they believe in, and worrying that giving them birth control in schools would somehow damage their teenager. When in fact, it would do nothing more then educate on how to be responsible if they are in fact having sex.

Birth control in high school? Yes. Birth control should be readily available to anyone who is of age to have sex. Along with the birth control in high school should be a required class on why it should be use, how it should be used, and where it is available.
