In today’s modern society many people find it hard to make the time to exercise. In a world that preaches ‘time is money’ many people are too focused on their jobs to find a little extra time to even relax, let alone exercise. With family responsibilities, household chores and many other commitments the idea of getting fit may seem like an impossible dream to many. However there are ways that you can get fit even if you have a packed schedule. We will now look at some top tips on how and when to exercise if you are a busy person.
Make Time - This is a simple place to start. Take a close look at your routine and work out if there is any way to squeeze half an hour extra out of your day. For some this may be first thing in the morning, for others maybe later in the evenings. Maybe you have an hour free at lunch, can you use half of this time to go for a quick run or if your company has a gym you may be able to use that. Analyzing your circumstances will often help you discover a small window of free time you can make use of.
Don’t Procrastinate - If you have set a side an allotted time to exercise, make sure you do it! If your time is limited then you can not afford to waste an opportunity. You may have had a long day and it may be easier to sit in front of the TV for an hour, but if you get out and do some exercise you will feel better about yourself and reap all the benefits that go along with keeping fit.
Have An Exercise Partner - If you can find someone who has a similar schedule to you and also wants to get fit this can be a real help. Having someone to exercise with encourages you to keep it up and push your fitness forward. Maybe a workmate can train with you in your lunch break, or maybe a neighbour can go running with you in the morning. Having a partner will give you the motivation you need to keep up with your exercise routine.
Make It Fun - Going for a run on your own, on a busy street, in the rain is not many peoples idea of fun. Don’t let your exercise become stale. If you get bored with one form of exercise, try another. Listen to music while you work out, if you are doing exercise indoors watch a TV show or film while you exercise. Time yourself if you are running, compete with your times to try and improve. If you are going running you don’t have to set off from your front door. Hop in the car and drive to a scenic area where you can enjoy nature while you train. Use your imagination to keep your exercise
