Poetry: Nature's offerings

One Moment In Time

Amid the dark of the forest
a lone tree
it's bark injured with carvings of love hearts,
initials, declaring undying love,
partly smothered with deep green moss engulfing,
twisting itself like a fox-fur collar
protecting it's master from the wind,
glowed in the shadows of the surrounding tree's
as the early sunrise hits it's ray's upon it
like a spotlight to a star on stage,
surrounded by a field of serenity.

In that instant all is well with the world.

No war.
No disasters.
No famine.
Just peace.

Then the clouds came.
