What you need to apply for extended unemployment benefits

Created on: August 18, 2010

It is a well know fact that the period for which an unemployed person who collects unemployment benefits has expired for tens of thousands of people who still are in search of a job. That is why the politicians within the Government of the United States of America twice passed a law to extend to time period of such unemployment compensation benefits in order to prevent many of those people from starving to death, becoming homeless and/or otherwise suffer and die on the streets of our once great Nation.

Keep in mind that the money received and spent by those unemployed people helps to prevent the loss of additional jobs of people who are still employed. In any event, such compensation continues to allow those who are unemployed to continue their job search.

For those of you who do not know, every person who does and continues to receive unemployment compensation must prove that he or she is actively seeking employment. As such, that unemployed person must report to the State Unemployment Compensation office on a regular basis and provide proof of such attempts to obtain a job. After doing so it is entirely possible that some employee within same office will check the data received by the unemployed person and then allow additional monies to be paid to that unemployed person.

It is also entirely possible that the unemployed person will be required to register with a state funded employment agency that will also search for and place such an unemployed person into a job. It should go without saying that if the unemployed person refuses to take the offered job those unemployment compensation checks will be stopped because one of the requirements to collect such unemployment compensation benefits is to take any job that the unemployed person is qualified to work.

Keep in mid that if the pay received for such job does not provide enough income for the person in question the State will supplement his or her earnings with additional compensation. Any job, temporary, part time or otherwise, is better than nothing. Every person requires a place in which to live. Every person does require a means of communication, like a telephone, and those utilities, like electricity and gas, in which to light, heat and cool ones place of residence.

Granted, such compensation may not be enough to pay all of the bills, in which case that unemployed person can apply to receive food stamps. Do not let your pride prevent you from taking advantage of every opportunity to remain healthy and alive while you continue to seek a job that will allow you to restore your life to what it once was when you had a good job and a reasonably comfortable live style.
