Top 3 favorite sites on the Internet

by JJ Francesco

Created on: August 17, 2010

The Internet is full of so many amazing websites. It would be incredibly difficult to pick absolute favorites among the many useful web pages and resources available to you online. If I had to narrow it down to only three sites that I currently consider my favorite, they would be as follows, in no particular order.

IMDB

IMDB, short for Internet Movie Database; this site is one of the dreams come true for any television or movie lover. It makes it easy to look up an actor’s entire filmography or find out who that person in a TV show episode was that you were positive that you recognized but couldn’t put your finger on just who it was. There are also many Parental Guides and Trivia sections to help you become very informed about movies before you even see them. With message boards to discuss the movies and shows with others and cast lists at your fingertips, this site is easily one of the best sites currently out there for finding information out about movies and TV.

Youtube

This is likely an obvious choice but it’s that way for a reason. Youtube revolutionized the Internet when it came out and quickly made itself a Household name. There are very few people who don’t know Youtube is today. It’s the source for nearly endless videos on just about any topic. Amateur videos of news making events, personal videos that range from moving, to funny, to outright outrageous. There are also accounts from bands to share music and clips and trailers from television shows and movies. There is very little worth watching that cannot be found in some form, on Youtube. Youtube has even made some people very famous. It’s become a new marketing tool in scouting for talent. Maybe it’s the ventriloquist baffling you with his talent and wit, or a kid who can sing like an angel, or even a guy who can belt out a powerful rendition of Nessun Dorma like it’s nobody’s business. No matter what you’re looking for, Youtube is a great resource to find new talent. All of these reasons and more make Youtube one of the most popular online destinations for entertainment hungry net users, and make it also one of my personal favorite websites.

Facebook

Again, this one is hardly a surprising choice. This is likely a choice of 90% of the youth with computers today. There’s something about Facebook that people just love. Many spend hours on pound pounding away at their keyboard, updating their status for every little thing they do. I
