I actually have two favorite verses, and they come from the book of Ecclesiastes:
"Everything that happens has happened before, and all that will be has
already been-God does everything over and over again."-Ecclesiastes 3:15.
To me, that means that there really isn't a mystery about life, because just as surely as God makes the Sun shine each day, He will bring about a resolution to something I might be going through, because He's done it for other people. It also means that everyone else goes through the same things, and has done so since the beginning of time. So I am not different than everyone else, but the same! Why does that make me happy? Because it allows me to focus less on how silly I sometimes feel about embarrassing things, and stop berating myself about a wrong choice. I learn from my mistakes and am given another opportunity to try again. I also learn how other people made it through, and I learn from them.
"And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life that is indeed a gift from God. People who do this rarely look with sorrow on the past, for God has given them reasons for joy."-Ecclesiastes 5:19-20.
To me, that means God blesses me with wealth and health for me to enjoy, but to in turn enjoy what I do with my life so that I am truly earning my living and not just collecting a paycheck. It means having true joy in life so that I don't have need to look to the past I've left behind.
