To love is to be open, to be kind, to be gentle, to show kindness, and to be honest, amongst many other qualities that enhance intimacy. Finding a way to open your heart to love again after a string of disappointments can be quite emotional and difficult. Finding the one is an incessant wish that pervades our thoughts, female or male.
Yet, more often than not, resistance and natural caution takes over, warning us to avoid laying our hearts on the line for anyone. Our natural defences are there for a reason, but the difficulty is that our resistances can lead us to isolation. You are committed to aloneness because you fear the unknown. Holding onto to past hurt, guilt or disappointment. Love forgives! - Let go in order to look at every situation with fresh eyes and an open heart. Forgiving can be tremendously difficult, especially when you have self-defeating beliefs. Notions that you will never find the one! You are not worthy of love, or you are scared to love or any other sense of negativity. Such negative messages hinder the flow of infinite love into your life, starting with loving yourself for who you are.
Finding out who you truly are, coming home to oneself is the best way to attract love into your life. Marianne Williamson describes this attitude in her prayers. This is a sentiment I feel we all can be open to whether we are prayerful, spiritual or just want to let the words resonate.
Prayer To Attract Love
I feel a space within me, a place where I would so love-to-love. I know that if my beloved came here, I would adore and cherish, honor and serve him or her. Pleases give me the opportunity to expand my way, the most beautiful way, the most intimate way, if that serves a divine purpose. For I would learn the secrets of love, and use what I have learn the grace the life another. What a marvellous possibility, that such treasures should be placed in my hand. I will try my best.
Amen

She goes on to say that the purpose of intimate relationships is to midwife the perfection in one another. This means that you bring out the best in one another by acknowledging and loving each other with open and gentle hearts. In order to move beyond our resistances, we must be able to show our wounds and witness our vulnerability. Intimacy can never mean that both people are perfect or that one of them is perfect. Rather, it means that both people are aware of the fact that we all have wounds, hold feelings of hurt and they need healing. This takes courage, but this is the road back to love and openness!
At this stage, as we face our resistance, we can walk the path of praying to melt our barriers by acknowledging to ourselves that we are powerless to our difficulties and must surrender.
Prayer To Let Down Your Guard
Remove the barriers to my soul, the walls, which stand in front of my heart, my commitment to aloneness, my resistance to joining. I do not seek love, for I know it is all around me. I seek the healing of my resistance to it; the strengthening of my spirit. When my true love calls, please keep me open and let me not shut down.
Amen

Love has no favorites, it there all the time, just allow yourself to be open without any preconceived ideas or notions. Love just is, nothing more or less! When you find it you will know, and your heart will melt.

Still in Search of Love...
I knew a man once way back in my youth.
He loved me; I mean truly loved me.
I have never been loved
It is possible I will never find true and lasting love. The chances of finding this kind of love at my age are slim.
Once again the man in my life was dilatory in returning my phone calls, and now that I think about it, in calling me at
