We are living in an age of uncertainty where it comes to employment.  For many these are "trying times."  All jobs are not created equal and there are many jobs out there that are searching hard for employees.  The following are well paying jobs that are also expected to go through a great growth spree in the near future.  All of the statistics for these future growth is from 2006 projected out to 2016 and are based on Department of Labor statistics.

♦  Great Jobs with future growth!

1.  Networks systems and data communications analysts: These jobs do everything in the IT world from networking, interfacing to communications.  There are expected to be 420,000 NEW jobs opening in this field in the next 6 years, not to mention turnover from existing jobs.  This is, of course, because of the continuing rapid growth and expansion of the internet.  A 53.4 % increase is expected.

2.  Computer software engineers: These are the people who write programs, games, computer systems, operating systems, applications and a lot more to deal with advances in computer technology.  A 44.6 percent increase is expected.

3.  Financial analysts and personal financial advisers:  These jobs basically deal with investing for corporations and for individuals.  Part of the reason fro growth of this group is to handle the finances of retirement for the "Baby Boomers" over the next few years.  A 38.8 percent increase is expected.

4.  Substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors:  This group includes counselors for drug and alcohol abuse cases, eating disorders, gambling, depression and much more.  The reason for the growth in this field is mainly due to an increase in the need for personality disorder counselors for things like depression.

5.  Physical therapist and physical therapist assistants:  This job is all about helping people with disabilities.  It is about decreasing pain, increasing mobility and generally getting people "back on their feet".  This job is considered to be a growth job due to the advancing age of the "baby boomers" and all the extra care that they will be needing in the coming years.

♦  Times are hard, but these jobs are growing!

Just because there is currently a recession and many are losing their jobs does not mean that the future is bleak everywhere.  there are still opportunities out there to be found if you look for them.  It just may take some looking.  If you are in school or going back to school for more education it might do you good to inquire about the feasibility of one of these careers.
