the most reliable dealers. When you buy an item, the progress of your transaction is communicated to you by email, and if sellers do not answer emails or queries within five days then their inventory is disabled and they can't sell any more items. The result is a largely reliable service, although my own experiences have shown that many dealers list lots of items that they don't keep in stock, and only order an item from another source once you have ordered it from them.

The Global Electronic Music Market Place is very similar to Musicstack in that it is a portal for record dealers to advertise their entire inventory. GEMM claims to host over 26 million items from 20,000 record stores and independent collections worldwide inducing a famous review from Rolling Stone magazine that stated If you can't get it here, fuhgeddaboudit'. Pretty much offers the same facilities as Musicstack, including the ability to post your own want list, and buy and deal in different currencies. One neat feature of this site is the facility to change the language in which listings and descriptions are shown, even Japanese. The biggest drawback about GEMM is the way in which it makes its money. Some dealers collect payment directly from the customer and pay a commission; others collect payment through GEMM and are charged a surcharge. This can be complicated for the buyer as it's not always clear whether listed prices include the surcharge. Watch out for some dealers who will charge you extra to cover that charge.
