MY DEMONS
My demons haunt me on the blackest nights
Cracking my soul inside its fleshy shell
When I fear Darkness shall defeat the Light
It gives them strength to drag me into hell
Here comes Depression with her heavy veil
That weighs me down so I begin to sink
In cold seawater, where I always fail
To reach the surface before taking a drink
And when Doubt comes with his favorite whip
Disappointment is not far behind
Their sharpened claws are meant to tear and rip
The flowers of Confidence out of my mind
My demons haunt me on the blackest nights
But with your help I will continue to fight

Poetry: Demons

The Demon King
Restless shadows struggling wildly in the currents wind,
Icy fingers of death await the journeys end.
Lightnings
by Shen-Li Lee
Ominous shadows everywhere I turn,
Alarming, looming, threatening, shocking.
To run away and escape is what I yearn,
Absconding,
A fire burns in the dark
A light for the darkened
A cold wind blows on high
Trees creak in the gust
A figure moves in
The Knife and the Devil's Claw
The anger of a steely knife
In ambushing surprise
Cut to the quick the childish heart
That thought
Demons on Earth
In the dark where despair is the strongest.
Where malice and hate both reside.
They survive in the festering
