Dating after divorce was proving to be a challenge. Josie had moved back to her hometown to get back on her feet again, and ended up there longer than she planned. For the first few years, being single was just what she wanted. Eventually though, she found herself nervously debating if she really wanted to stay single forever as was her original intent.
After a while, she decided to get past her fears and give love another chance. There was one huge obstacle. Even while growing up, she did not have a lot in common with a lot of people where she lived. Though it made her more nervous, she signed up on an online dating site to see what would happen.
There had been several men that contacted her, but each seemed more strange than the last. Just as she had decided to cancel her account, Josie received a new message from a man that seemed very interesting. Instead of cancelling, she replied to Trent’s message. It turned out that they had a lot in common and they found themselves talking on the phone for hours.
After about a month of talking on the phone and computer she decided to meet him because she found that she really liked him a lot more than she thought possible. The day arrived and with much trepidation, she found herself waiting for him in a parking lot. When Trent pulled up beside her and got out of his car, all nervousness disappeared.
To her surprise, Josie found herself giving him a big hug almost as though he was a long lost friend. They spent the entire day together talking and spending time getting to know one another more. It was soon obvious to both of them that the connection they felt over the phone and Internet was just as real in person.
A few months and many dates and conversations later, he asked her to marry him. Her first reaction was pure happiness. This was swiftly followed by icy fear of being hurt once again. She made the decision to swallow her fear and said yes. True love had finally found the way into her life.
