Want an easy diner tonight?  Try Taco Salad, it is a simple and satisfying dish.  You can add ingredients or take some away depending on what your likes and dislikes are.

Shopping list:

Ground beef, or ground turkey depending on your dietary needs.  One or two pounds depending on the number of servings.

Taco seasoning  one pack per pound of meat.

Taco sauce, mild, medium or hot depending on your desired taste.

Tomatoes,  you can used cherry tomatoes or whole tomatoes cut up depending on the amount of time you wish to spend preparing this dish.

Sour cream 1 16oz container.

shredded lettuce or a head of iceberg lettuce again depending on cost or amount of time you wish to spend on preparing this dish.

One package of shredded taco blend cheese.

Sliced or whole black olives.

One can of black beans.

One can of re-fried beans.

You can buy taco bowls that you bake in the oven or purchase a bag of Tortilla chips.

Once you have all the ingredients for your meal you begin by cooking the meat and adding the taco seasoning.  While the meat is cooking you prepare the tomatoes, black olives, black beans, lettuce and put them in small dishes so that people can put on their salads what they like.   Heat the re-fried beans in a microwavable bowl.   Put the bag of chips in a bowl.  Place all bowls on the table.  Once the meat is done put it in a bowl as well.  With all of your items in bowls on the table you are ready to sit down and enjoy your taco salad dinner.  Place the chips on your plate first, then the meat, re-fried beans, black beans, salsa, tomatoes, black olives, lettuce , shredded cheese and top with sour cream.  Now you have prepared and are ready to eat a nice taco salad with minimum work involved.
