Lowering the blood pressure can be a challenge. Yet there are ways along with medication to reach a more positive result.
First before you begin a regiment to lower your blood pressure you need to consult your physician. There may be underlying causes for the blood pressure increase. It is better to be safe then sorry. Your physician may prescribe medication to reduce your blood pressure if necessary. There are many things that you can do to help maintain your blood pressure at a healthy level or reduce faster.
*Moderate excersise to begin-park further than you would normally.
*Reduce the amount of salt you put on your food-some people tend to add salt. It only mask the natural taste.
*Eat a lot of fresh vegetables-be careful of vegetables that contain natural salt such as celery.
*Stop smoking!
*Eliminate Alcohol for better health
*Eliminate coffee and teas-caffeine has definite impact on blood pressure. Herbal teas may be a good substitute. Diluting your coffee with more milk each day may help you gradually kick the habit. It will also save you money. Put the money you save in a jar and take a vacation at the end of the year. Be careful of sodas with caffeine also don't substitute for coffee. At first you may have caffeine withdrawal, but soon you will feel a world better and less volatile.
*Be careful not to eliminate too much salt-follow your doctors instruction. You may develop other problems as a result.
*Eat a well balanced diet, high in grain and fiber. Pulses are a good thing to snack on. Your will begin to feel better and a better complexion.
*Cut down on fat-eat lean and small portions of meat. You don't have to cut it all out. Eat in moderation.
*Watch out for foods that are high in cholesteral. Do research there are good and bad cholesterals.
*It has been known that reading scriptures helps to bring on a peaceful state-believe it or not I saw it on a video on research that was done a long time ago. Something spiritual helps.
*Calm music-seems to soothe the savage beast. Unorthodox but works!
*Regular meditation or quiet moments seem to help calm and reduce your blood pressure.
I realize this is a lot to cut out of your life and may cause stress. Do one thing at a time. You will see the difference in your health.
