To writers, every subject is another opportunity. Whether to flesh out our portfolios, earn us some up-front cash or to help us conquer a plum string of keywords, we'll write about just about anything. Especially for new writers, the promise of additional opportunities is enough to keep us busy writing about things we have no interest or experience in. Don't waste your time! The best subjects are those you know and love. Here are a few of the reasons why you should write what you know”
Enjoyment
First and foremost, let's talk about enjoyment. Writing is a passion! Writing is an art. As a writer, you have the rare ability to do something you love for a living. Why waste that opportunity writing about things you don't care about? Spend your time writing about the things that bring you joy instead. Not only will you get greater fulfillment from writing about what you know, but your interest in the subject will be evident to readers.
Quality
When you're genuinely interested in something, it's easy to learn about it. This gives you an advantage as a writer because it allows you to create higher-quality work. You'll be able to give your readers valuable advice about the ins and outs of your particular subject, including tips derived from hands-on experience. You'll know what information is valuable to newcomers to the subject, and which concepts to save for more advanced readers. Being able to provide a wealth of quality information about a topic positions you as an authority, and therefore someone people will continue to flock to for knowledge.
Speed
How fast you can produce content has a direct correlation with how much you can earn. Being experienced with the topics you write about means producing work faster. You won't need to waste additional time learning the subject before you write about it. If you need to check your facts or do a little research, you'll often have a good idea of where to look. Saving time on reading and research means dedicating more time to writing and earning. Instead of toiling your way through producing content on a dull or unknown subject, you'll be able to create quality articles quickly.
Volume
If you're unfamiliar with a topic, it's hard to produce a lot of information about it. Not only will an article on the subject be slower to write, but you won't know what to write about within the subject next. Being familiar with a topic gives you an insider look at what other people interested in the topic want to know, as well as the
