If being unemployed is something you’re not fond of thinking right now, when it happens there isn’t much for you to stress about but to keep at it in finding the next meal ticket. With that, factors like lack of money and resources may be boggling to your mind at the moment and who knows how long it’ll be before you get another stable position. Relax, here are some ways which you can remain positive during your long-term job search.

+ Volunteering For Your Community +

No pay? You’ll be surprise to see how much your community needs your help. Your skill in the workforce has build a shield upon seeing that there are so many others who haven’t yet been there. Yet here you are feeling miserable about what has happened. Why not go and lend a hand at the local church, outreach or school?

As you get in touch with what it feels like to develop hope and direction again, you’ll see that you have a lot more to provide than negativity. Who knows, you might end up snagging a position which has been in need of being filled for a long time but they just haven’t found the right person for the job. You could be that one. It’s only a matter of investing a little time to give because eventually you will receive back.

+ Find Support Through Working For A Friend +

While pity is something you feel you need right now, what you really need more is someone who understands the position you’re in and give you a place to help out. So most likely you know someone who has a business and can provide you with a temporary job to make a little bit of money. It’s the ol' rub my back and I’ll rub yours back.

Look inside your rolodex and place that call. It wouldn’t hurt to try. The worse that can happen is your friend will say ‘no’. Until then, it’s not the end of the world. Go on to the next person and try again. Someone will at least need some help with something and are willing to pay you for your time in helping out.

+ Look For Temporary Jobs +

Besides our friends, the next jobs which will fulfill at least our need for the present are temporary jobs. The openings for these can range from easy to very hard labor. Also the time frame for these positions tend to last a day to only a few weeks. So while you’re searching for a real job, this might do to pay the bills for the present.

In general, temporary jobs can range from government work like the Census Bureau to gift wrapping and seasonal help. No matter
