Fresh summer peas is a favorite of mine.I like to take fresh peas and put them in a homemade cream sauce.
.Take your peas and shell and wash them.
.Put a little water up over them and cook them till they are tender and boiled down some, leave a little water in them.
.Then add 1 cup of cream to the water and peas.
.Then add 2 tablespoons of real butter.
.Stir this all up and add a little of the mixture to 2 teaspoons of cornstarch or flour and mix well.
.Add this mixture back into the pot and let it thicken somewhat.Make a pan of crusty cornbread and it is delicious together.
