cosmic rider
there is a silent stranger
along the astral plane
like a lonely shadow
in the spirit he'll remain
far from his goal
an island he'll never reach
yet this lonely soul
has much he can teach
i strain to hear his voice
like a beacon in the nite
to ponder on his choice
on the contents of his strife
so in our restless ways
we tend to loose our goal
'til sorrow and anticipation
is the only thing we know

by Lowell Mertz

reaching for the stars

or at best, planet Earth.
Disappointed
by Allyn Smith
Woman in the pines
Snow covered pines in the night
Reaching for the stars
each other and away
Waiting to catch a breath
My eyes search the skies
As I stroll down the moonlit path.
Oh, how I long
To prance among the stars
To venture out
To planets
