Man of the Year is a political satyr fueled by the edgy comedy of Robin Williams and held together by the classic character of Christopher Walken. Jeff Goldblum and Lewis Black co-star in what is Robin William's best picture since Good Morning Vietnam. While poking fun at conservative and liberals alike, Man of the Year manages to weave a sub-tale of conspiracy cover-up during a presidential election to please both the heart and the mind. More often than not, political satyrs forget that they are dealing with real issues and strive only for the cheap laugh. Fortunately, this is not the case in Man of the Year. A successful blend of politic bashing and issue confrontation make it hard not to enjoy what could be described as a sub-par suspense plot. Overall, it was as enjoyable as watching the Colbert Report and The West Wing rolled into a feature film.
