A Book, Overlooked
In a dusty corner,
On a forgotten shelf,
Are the unread pages,
Of a book, overlooked.
Sometimes she comes,
With lavender ink,
And writes quiet words,
That he'll never read.
She writes those words,
That she can’t speak,
Of hidden things
She can't reveal.
Quietly, the book then sits
Unseen, unread, untouched,
Growing old, gathering dust,
Waiting and hoping
That one day
He looks deeper
Than the cover,
And finds worth loving,
The neglected heart
Contained within.
