Homosexuality is nothing new even though the people of New York believe it began in 1969 with the Stonewall riots when police raided a gay bar and the patrons fought back with what became known as "gay liberation". This started a theme that everyone should accept and even embrace homosexuality because it was a sexual preference. We won't even get into the argument of scientific research that some believe as  they were "born that way." No, men having sex with men and women having sex with women is nothing new. The Apostle Paul discusses it in the book of Romans, written in A.D. 57 - 1,953 years ago!

In the very first chapter of Romans, Paul says homosexuality is an act of unbelief. Does that sound as if a Christian can be a homosexual? Not in my book. It says that practicing these unGodly sex acts show their rebellion against God's sovereign intention in creation. He goes on to say it is an assault upon the integrity of the creation and God's intention in creating human beings into two distinct and complementary genders. Genesis 2 tells us God created man in His image and then he created man a helpmate - a woman. Even though woman is recognized by man to be "bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh" God designed two distinctive genders.   

Which brings us to another point. Homosexuals try to blur the gender lines saying such things as "I am a female trapped in a male body." First of all, God does not make mistakes. His creations are perfect. He knew us all before we were even born. But, He gives us choices. If a male taps into his "feminine side", the choice of the human begins there. The human can either choose to lead a life that is an abomination - homosexuality - or can suppress those desires and lead the life God created.

Television, Hollywood movies, books, songs, and even politicians tell us that we must embrace homosexuality and we must be accepting because they deserve rights just as everyone else. They deserve rights as human beings, not as anything else. Their sexual preference does not fall within the sex, race, or creed rights outlined in the Constitution so their way of life does not have to be recognized and embraced by others. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God, but a gay person sins continuously, without repentance, when that person wakes up everyday and lives the life of a homosexual. Their existence alone is an abomination or detestable (Leviticus 18:22) to God. 

Homosexuals call devout Christians narrow-minded. I am proud to be narrow-minded for Jesus Christ my Savior, the one true living God because He wrote laws for Moses to give to the people and as of 2010 those laws have not been rescinded by God. He still expects us to follow them and to spread the good news about Him. A devout Christian does not have to embrace or accept the homosexual community but it is our responsibility to give witness to Jesus Christ. None of us are pure even if we have never committed a deviant sexual act, so we are committed to sharing the Word with others, including homosexuals, without hatred but with love and show them the error of their ways.
