It was a nice summer evening in New York City. I was at an all white gala boat ride with a few friends. The yacht was packed with dozens of white garbed mature and sexy partygoers on the largest dance floor on water moving beneath the swirling dazzling lights as hip-hop music blared. A Nicole Scherzinger clone kept giving me the eye. I can honestly say that I was shy, and a bit surprised that she was checking me out. After taking a few sips of Jack & Coke, I had enough confidence to approach her.
“Hey, how are you? My name is Omarion.” I introduced myself. “You looked gorgeous in that white dress.”
“Thanks, my name is Roselyn.” She said, shaking my hand. “You’re hot yourself.”
After talking and laughing for an hour, we decided to hit the dance floor and danced to the latest tunes of Drake, Rick Ross, and Fat Joe. We heat up the floor with our energy from grinding and sensuous dancing. I never had this much fun at a party before and really didn’t want it to end. We exchanged numbers and decided to have a summer romance.
We were together all summer long like a married couple. Our world was full of love, happiness, and excitement. It was so rare to see us separately. I felt like Roselyn was my soul mate. The summer was coming to an end, and Roselyn had to go back to the Dominican Republic to take care of her elderly parents, I was heartbroken. I watched her board the plane and leave my world forever.
As I was driving back home, it started pouring down rain. The weather matched the mood I was in. I did my best not letting the tears raced down my face. My best friend Cory tried his best to brighten up my hood.
“Don’t worry, playboy, you’ll see her again.” He said. “If you love something set it free. If it comes back, then it was meant to be.”
“I pray that she does come back. Why the summer had to end?”
