How Much Setup Is Required To Start Selling On EBay?
If you have a computer and access to the Internet, then you are 50 percent of the way there to start selling on eBay. Just look around your house and now you have inventory. Following are three easy steps to start you selling on eBay in no time.
Step 1 - Create an eBay Account - Assuming you already have a computer and access to the Internet, create an eBay account. One important thing to note when choosing a user-name is pick very carefully. You will have this user-name for the lifetime of your eBay account and any ratings you earn will be applied to this user-name. If you want to change your user name in the future you will lose the ratings on that name. Otherwise setting up a seller account is fairly simple and straight forward and should take less than five minutes.
Step 2 - Take Pictures of the Products You're Selling - As for inventory, take a look in your storage area at home, inside your house and in your garage. Most of us have a lot of things we no longer need. Just sitting here surveying my house now I see toys (always a great seller on eBay), old antique bottles that I don't need, picture frames that I am not using, you get the idea. Take pictures of these products. Take the best pictures that you can because buyers pay attention to the pictures. Download your pictures to your PC.
Step 3 List Your Items - The great thing about eBay is they already have templates for you to use to list your stuff on their site. It's like "color by numbers"; you simply hold their hand while they walk you through all the steps to create a listing. Ignore all the bells and whistles because they will try to get you to add-on stuff for what looks like pennies, but it all adds up. Stick with simple. Once you get better at it, you can get professional looking templates at a site called auctiva.com which offers FREE designer templates that will make you look like an old pro.
That's it! That's all there is to it. Now for the final and most important step, stop searching the Internet for information on how easy is it to sell on eBay and go start selling!
