Poetry: Dark soul

Sleepless Night

Questions keep floating through my head, unresolved concerns swarming through the essence of my being. Where am I going and why? Little did I know that the trail would take me closer to a place where I know nothing and understand less. Have I done more than enhance my own perspective? Have not my catalytic friends merged back into their own way of being without the force of my presence? Am I not doing the same? Out of pain comes truth and out of truth, further lies. Today, after so many years of unearthly experiences, I am wrapped in uncertainty. My journey's end is just a sea of the unknown, a basket woven with nothing inside. Perhaps the process has led me to this place, or this place of the "unknown" has led me to the process. I am so filled with doubt and concern that I fail to meet the day with a convincing smile. If all is for naught, then nil is for all, delusion leading to seclusion, absence from the norm. Broken, pieces shattered without a pattern, wondering how, and if, I will put it all together again?  Tomorrow? Perhaps?
