Illegal immigration is a grave danger to any nation. Unmitigated illegal immigration into any nation does that nation indelible harm. Unable to be certain of the number, needs, and condition of those residing in a nation puts the government in a position of partial blindness to possible danger to its national security, public health, economy and, of course, the municipalities in which those illegal immigrants live and work. Speaking specifically about the danger to the United States regarding illegal immigration, these effects should, at least on their surface, be common sense answers. Without screening, any number of dangerous people may stroll across the border at any given moment. In this time of heightened awareness and the ‘always on’ danger of terrorism it would seem ludicrous that any persons would be allowed to move between nations without even the most cursory of screening procedures.

It is entirely possible, if not plausible, that at the moment you read this there is a terrorist walking across a border somewhere carrying some type of weapon(s) and or explosives, even a dirty bomb or worse.

The thought is frightening. The reality is horrifying.

Proponents of “undocumented workers” would likely argue that not all illegal immigrants coming into the US are terrorists. That would seem obvious. Many of the illegals are simply desperate people from less prosperous nations seeking opportunity. This motive, while understandable, does not excuse the crime of breaking and entering into a sovereign nation.

It is widely known that many nations, particularly in the third world, but not exclusively; still have relatively large percentages of their people who contract diseases and ailments long since obliterated in American life. Diseases such as the measles, rubella, even smallpox and polio are virtually non-existent in the United States but still infect a staggering number of people abroad. Even in the case of a well-meaning, good-hearted seeker of employment and prosperity coming into the US illegally, and therefore without health screening, they could unintentionally trigger an outbreak of such diseases that the US would be ill-equipped to deal with, causing the loss of many American lives.

Illegal immigration is a grave danger, whether those immigrants have such intent or not.

Reasonable people would be able to make their decision that illegal immigration is harmful after considering only the national security and public health aspects
