Southbeach, HCG, Atkins - What do these three things have in common? They claim to the be the best way, the quickest way and the simplest way to loose weight. The only diet you will ever need to live a healthy lifestyle. Yet none of the above will leave you with the lasting, permanent results that you want.
A healthy lifestyle is something that we all desire. We want to fit into that little black dress, wedding dress, or the jeans from high school. We want our significant others to look at us the way they look at the neighbor girl who is slim, blond and gorgeous. We want to be healthy and in our fast paced society we want the results today! Not tomorrow, not three months down the road, today. Well no matter if you choose one the diets mentioned above or The Simple Way, your results will not be immediate. At least not dress size wise. So how do you obtain a lifestyle that is healthy? Easy.
Choose Healthy Meals
Choosing healthy meals such as steamed chicken with brown rice and green beans over fast food and take out is by far one of the best things you can do. Cutting out the greasy take out meals and the high calorie, high cholesterol will improve your mood, your waistline, and your heart. Eating properly can also increase your energy.
Craving dessert? We all do, and we can still have it, the thing is to choose wisely. Yogurt instead of cheesecake. Pudding instead of the chocolate brownie ice cream dessert. Once in a while even these are ok to eat. Just do it sparingly.
Snacking is another important element in the healthy lifestyle. A snack high in protein is great for energy. I usually eat a protein bar which had the added benefits of keeping my energy going while at the gym. Speaking of the gym, exercise is next on the list of things needed for a healthy lifestyle.
Exercise
Many people dread this word and yet I love it. The stair stepper and I have our issues but I do love going to the gym. Now of course not everyone can afford a gym membership or even want to take the time out to go. However, there are things you can do that can help you along in your healthy lifestyle.
Take the kids to the park and play with them. Join them in their game of tag or just push them in the swing. Playing with your kids will work out your muscles and help your burn calories too, plus you have the added benefit of having fun with your children. Precious moments that you will have to cherish forever.
