Spiritual readings tend to be more powerful then many things in your daily life. They excite your energies and cause your spirit to lift, but like too much exercise, it can be detrimental to engage in spiritual readings or practices too often. Like the muscles in our bodies, our energy and spirit need to be torn, then regrown stronger. Reading or performing the same thing day in and day out causes your spirit to atrophy, actually putting you further back then you might realize. It isn't in our nature to be in a constant state of spiritual awareness. Even the most enlightened individual is often in a state of "normal" awareness, not needing to think or act in any enlightened way. This is because their enlightenment isn't entirely consumed from a single source, but rather, collectively gathered through trial and error from many angles.
Doing any one thing for too long often has a negative impact on you and those around you. It's important to maintain your spiritual readings and exercises, but not at the cost of your own individuality and personal freedom. Let your energy grow naturally by expanding and retracting. If allowed to grow in this manner, ones spirit will grow much more powerful in a much smaller frame of time. This however, can be difficult for the average person. Read when you want to read, not when you "need" to read. The same goes for meditations, writing, singing...whatever brings you to that place. When a thing of the spirit becomes mandatory, its energy is often dampened. For this exact reason, it's important to maintain many spiritual practices, all at varying times and paces. Exercising only one muscle and forgoing all the others only causes distortion in the long run, as opposed to developing every muscle at an even yet varying pace.
The beliefs of others are important for every individual, as they cast some much needed perspective on our own set of beliefs. Embracing bits and pieces of multiple sources that resonate within you often assures you a spiritual existence of diversity, and strength. Only take the bits that feel helpful and meaningful, while remaining respectful of those that do not. Soon you will have a belief that is all your own, and that resonates perfectly with you. Share your belief with others, and take joy in their disagreements or compromises. You are absolutely unique. Everything you do is entirely individual. Don't allow yourself to be restrained and you'll be amazed by how far you go
