The land of the living skies boasts excellent opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Saskatchewan is a fascinating four season vacation destination and offers plenty of outdoor adventures. Saskatchewan is almost half covered by forestry, and along the forestry line in central Saskatchewan the scenery is unbelievable. If you like to fish, hike, hunt, snowmobile, camp or simply live with nature: Saskatchewan is the place to come.
Prince Albert National Park is a great four season destination and is well known for its natural beauty. This area stretches further north past the city of Prince Albert into the amazing northern forestry. There are plenty of lakes, beaches, golf courses and spa destinations around this area, at the southern edge of the park. The park has become a popular recreational destination in Saskatchewan. This is the place to get away from busy urban centers and relax in the wilderness.
Hudson Bay is located in East Central Saskatchewan and is both known for being the “Moose Capital of the World” as well as the home to an excellent network of snowmobile trails. This small community has won numerous awards for their excellent snowmobile trails that extend into the Northern Provincial forest. This area is also well known for hunting, fishing and camping.
Saskatchewan is home to plenty of moose, elk, deer, bear and many other woodland animals. Hunting is a large tourism industry for central and northern Saskatchewan. People come from all over North America to enjoy the untouched wilderness that Saskatchewan has to offer. There are many outfitting companies that accommodate any level of hunter.
There are plenty of lakes and rivers that are host to excellent fishing opportunities in central and northern Saskatchewan. Tobin Lake is known as a world class fishing lake and is located close to Nipawin in North East Saskatchewan. Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, and Trout are just some of the many types of fish that you can catch in Saskatchewan’s clear and fresh waters. Saskatchewan has numerous lakes and Northern Saskatchewan offers plenty of fly-in fishing lodges that offer complete wilderness vacations.
Saskatchewan is an excellent province to get away from it all and relax. There are endless opportunities to discover the undeveloped wilderness, the choice is yours. If you want to enjoy the cold winters by hitting the marked and groomed snowmobile trails, or relax under the summer stars and be amazed by the northern lights: Saskatchewan has it all!
