Ways to defend yourself against Satan's attacks on your soul

Ways to defend yourself against Satan's attacks on your soul.

One must not fear Satan.  He only has as much power as you let him have.  He is as powerless as you make him be.  Although Satan doesn't have true independent will over our souls, he does have the power and might of influence.  And those influences come in the many varieties of our faults and imperfections.  Addictions are one big way.   We know when we are locked in to addictions.  We should not blame ourselves for addictions.  Rather, blame yourself for the denial.  Addiction is a human fault intentionally handed down by God.  It is all part of our soul's test that hopefully will be strong enough to for permanent spiritual resting.  Till that happens (if it happens at all!), reactions of helpless denial and conscience awareness through guilt and shame are of direct influences Satan brings to us. Our own weaknesses and vacuum of spiritual strength is in complete mirror image of Satan's own weaknesses and strengths.  The Bible makes much mention of addictions, denial and guilt, however, I will say religious concepts are not silver bullets for us.  The complete rejection of Satan can only come from within us. It can only be OUR OWN battle.  No one else's.  Strength to fight comes from tackling and handling our addictions internally ourselves, eliminating  fears that we have of Satan.  Yes, we can use the Church or Religion of our choice to help,  and we can use others in our everyday lives to help, but our own rejections of Satan will undermine any kind of power he can garner through might and influence.

As our perceptions of the real might and power Satan can bring to us aligns to the darkness of our unchecked addictions and denials,  we will also then notice that as we confront personal demons of addictions, and find out in our own little worlds that those battles can be waged and won,  Satan will be left powerless.  Fear will be gone.

But it won't be permanent.  Only looking back in an historical approach can you then say, "Yes it WAS permanent - up to now."  Tomorrow you never know.  Satan's temptation perfectly locks in to our human weaknesses.  There will never be a guarantee that Satan's temptations will cease.  Unless of course you earn your wings, but I wouldn't know what life is without temptation since I haven't got to that point yet.
