How different from Helium is that the goal is actually to emerge as the best answer to the prevailing question that one is attempting to answer, so that advertising royalties on that question becomes yours to monetize. In other words, competition is quite stiff as only one person gets to keep all the resulting monies for that question. However not to worry, answers to questions are not particularly stringent and unsubjected to a minimum word count.

The key-points to earning more money on Webanswers:-

Be specific to the point. Users who are looking for answers to their questions prefer it to be direct and straight to the point. That saying, less sugar-coating and storytelling is being sought for. It also means that the longest and most beautifully souped-up answers may not turn up to be the best answers. The focus is on quality, and not quantity.

Answer only questions in areas that you have experiences on. All too often, it is the blind giving the unenlightened answers. After all, the best experience for both the asker and answerer is to share real life knowledge. Sticking to your niche is your best bet, and giving your best in your answers will gradually improve your rank day in and out.

Look at the other answers in the thread. This is my favourite part. There are quite a number of answers and one-liners that sometimes do not relate to the question at all, and tackling them first-hand would probably land you the ‘Best Answer’ in the bag for such questions.

Tackle a few questions a day. Just answering a few questions will increase your chances of obtaining the ‘Best Answer’ for the different questions each day. It also increase your exposure, and the self-guru in you. Once you are being recognised in the field, people might already be starting to look you up themselves.

Promote Webanswers. Needless to say when more people know, with more exposure and activities, the site will grow, and revenue-earning opportunities will increase. It also provide ways for the site to diversify in future and grow.

Last but not least, enjoy what you are doing. If you enjoy answer queries from others, instead of placing emphasis on earning more revenue as your priority, you may find that you get back more than you initially thought you would.
